The Kingdom of the Son, and more peace.

A lot I've been thinking about lately but for some reason I feel like continuing more with the subject of PEACE.
I look forward to what you all have to say about it, too, so feel free to keep quoting what you like, stories, articles, bible verses and the like.

Phillipians 4:6,7
Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Jesus said, "Ask, that your joy may be full".
Don't strive/agonize over your requests, just LET them be known, your Father is always listening...enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise...love on Him...LET your troubles go, and be at peace.

Ephesians 1:2
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:14-17
But now in Christ Jesus, you who were far away have been brought near by the blood of the Messiah.
For He is our peace, who made both groups one and tore down the dividing wall of hostility. In His flesh, He did away with the law of the commandments in regulations, so that He might create in Himself one new man from the two, resulting in peace.
Buildings collapsing with word earthquake!
He did this so that He might reconcile both to God in one body through the cross and put the hostility to death by it. When Christ came, He proclaimed the good news of peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.

Colossians 1:20...and through Him to reconcile everything to Himself by making peace through the blood of His cross-whether things on earth or things in heaven.

Colossians 1:13
He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

  1. When I was out today I was wondering what to put on the blog, then I LET my request be made known and as soon as I got out of the car, the big window ad in a clothing store said "Peace of Mind", with a girl giving a peace sign, and the word PEACE. So peace it is...cool.

  2. Jesus, the Son of God, is truly the stairway to peace and spiritual healing. The stairway on our journey to the Kingdom. Jesus described himself as the ladder in Jacob’s dream that bridged the gap between man and God. The ladder is provided by Christ's death for our sins. Isaiah 53:4-5, TLB. "Yet it was our grief He bore, our sorrows that weighed Him down. And we thought His troubles were a punishment from God, for His own sins! But He was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was chastised that we might have peace; He was lashed—and we are healed." All of us who have been touched by sin are in great need of spiritual healing. Forgiveness is ours for the taking, peace is found by making things right with God. Romans 5:1, (TLB) tells us, "So now, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith in His promises, we can have real peace with Him because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us." However, it took years for sin to create deep festering wounds in our lives, and as anyone who has worked in the health field knows, wounds take 10 times longer to heal than they did to form. But Praise God, as we climb Jacob’s ladder each round takes us higher and closer to the spiritual healing the Bible promices us is ours on the quest to the Kingdom.

“Every round goes higher” So the second round of the staircase involves removing what causes the wound from our lives. This round of the staircase is obedience. Psalm 119:165, (NIV) "Great peace have they who love Your law, and nothing can make them stumble." Disobedience is what caused the spiritual wounds in our lives to begin with so it makes sence that obedience removes what causes the wounds to keep growing. Doing the right thing because it is what God wants us to do is the essence of righteousness by faith. Isaiah 32:17-18, (NIV) "The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever."

“Every round goes higher” So the third round in the stairway upto the Kingdom looks easy, but it is actually the most challenging part of the climb. It is finding peace by letting go of self. It is a battle within ourselves against God’s will in areas of our life where we don’t want to let go, but where we need to grow. Job 22:21, (TLB) "Quit quarreling with God. Agree with Him and you will have peace at last. His favor will surround you if you will only admit that you were wrong." Self petrufies in our wounds, but Praise God, removing self cleanses the wounds to allow healing to begin to take place.

“Every round goes higher” in this round God gives us discipline, which is the fourth round in the stairway of peace and spiritual healing. Hebrews 12:5-11, (NIV) "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son. Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." Medicine on a deep wound stings and burns, discipline is the medicine providing the anticeptic environment necessary for the spiritual wound to keep infection out. Praise God, that Jesus is the Balm of Giliad, by trusting in Him, the Balm of Gilliad will heal the sin sick soul. Isaiah 26:3-4, (TLB) "He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in Him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord! Trust in the Lord God always, for in the Lord Jehovah is your everlasting strength."

  3. Dan...wow, really enjoyed that reading...lots of insight there, and good analogies.

some thoughts I'm having...forgiveness for the taking, yet already given...freedom for the taking, justification already given.

Romans 5:18,19...so then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is life-giving justification for everyone. For just as through one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.

  5. Thanks Dan, to you and Tamara.
The appointment went well, she started steroids but isn't noticing much help yet, getting ready to begin her 3rd day.

If she is not better in a couple of days I really think she needs some kind of pain-killer.

The next step, the doctor wants her to have a ctscan, he's trying to get us a discount somewhere.

A lot going on but please keep blogging until I get up another post, hopefully real soon.

Godspeed on the paperwork for Thailand.

  6. God opens doors, and God provides for all our needs. It is not cheep for a family of 7 to go to the mission field, and we were not independently wealthy, except for the cattle on a thousand hills that my Father owns.

I told you last week about our visa situation, we were not overly worried, because we knew God had not brought us this far to leave us stranded. But we had to get our visas by this Wednesday or we would lose out on almost $6000 of airline tickets.

So we got back all our visa documents (like birth certificates, marriage certificates and Diplomas) on Thursday that we sent out to Chicago, Miami and Texas for authentication. On Friday we took them to the Taiwan Embassy in San Francisco, with the applications for our visas. We applied for residential visas so they cost more than we had planned. Originally we saved $700 for our visas. But we had expenses that ate up most of that money weeks ago. The final total for our visa application was over $1200. So thank goodness I still had my last paycheck from working at Lakeland Hospital. The visas took just about all we had left of that check. The Embassy told us to come pick up our visas after 3 PM on Tuesday. On Wednesday night we fly out. God sure does like to keep us in suspense and work things out at the last minute.

And I know that God will do the same thing for you and Natasha's medical expenses. Prayer is the key that unlocks the riches of the storehouses of heaven. And we will keep praying for both of you.

  7. Praise God Dan!...thanks for that testimonial, it strengthens the body of Christ, and is a good reminder to me. Thank you for the agreements in prayer. Blog when you can from Thailand.

  8. Karl, so sorry to hear about your beloved’s health problems. I am lifting up your family in prayer.

Dan, the situation with the visas is just so typical of God, isn’t it? Although He is rarely early, He has never once been late. You truly are getting to Taiwan on angels’ wings.

Here’s a quote worth thinking about:

If we are to believe Jesus, his Father and our Father is the God of all life and His caring and provision include a sheepherder’s lost lamb, a falling sparrow, a sick child, the hunger pangs of a crowd of four thousand, the need for wine at a wedding feast, and the plight of professional fishermen who toiled all night and caught nothing.

These vignettes, scattered through the Gospels like little patches of gold dust, say to us, “No creaturely need is outside the scope or range of prayer.”

  9. Ps 84:11 (NIV) “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”

How does Yahweh Elohiym illustrate the sun towards His people? God illuminates our life’s path showing us the right way to go. He brightens our world, filling in the dark shadows with light. Many people have experienced depression from the lack of sunlight during the wintertime; medical professionals call it seasonal affective disorder. But the sun, like Yahweh, invigorates us with healing warmth and life, you might say that light is nature’s pep pill that fills us with energy. Experiencing Christ working in our life is like when “The sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.” Mal 4:2 (NIV)

Yahweh Elohiym is also a shield to protect and defend all those who trust him. God does not promise to give us everything we think we want, but He will not withhold anything that is permanently good. He will give us the means to walk along his paths, but we must do the walking. When we obey Him, He will not hold anything back that will help us serve Him.

My brother Karl, I know right now you have your mind on other things, like Natasha’s health. So this is just a reminder to let the Sun of Righteousness shine down on you both with healing in His wings
